Title:  Senior Operations Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Support the Operations Manager in managing day-to-day upstream production and operational activities.
• Monitor and optimize production performance, facility efficiency, and operational reliability.
• Coordinate operational activities involving production systems, utilities, process equipment, and support facilities.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of offshore/onshore production facilities in accordance with approved operating procedures and HSE requirements.
• Provide technical and operational support for production optimization, troubleshooting, and operational decision-making.
• Review production data, operational trends, downtime reports, and system performance to identify improvement opportunities.
• Coordinate closely with Maintenance, Integrity, Production Technologist, HSE, and Engineering teams to ensure smooth operational execution
• Support start-up, shutdown, commissioning, and maintenance activities.
• Participate in incident investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
• Assist the Operations Manager in preparing operational reports, KPls, operational planning, manpower planning, and budgeting activities.
• Ensure compliance with PETRONAS standards, DOSH requirements, environmental regulations, and company operational procedures.
• Review and improve operating procedures, risk assessments, PTW compliance, and operational documentation.
• Support contractor and vendor management related to operational activities.
• Mentor and guide junior operational personnel and engineers.
• Act as Operations Manager representative during assigned operational activities when required.
• Support emergency response activities and operational readiness initiatives.
• Review and supervise the implementation of operations programs
• Establish the necessary contracts required for the O&M of the oilfield and manage the activities of contractors and service providers.
• Optimize operations in relation to wells, reservoirs, facilities, and business drivers while ensuring compliance with SSHE requirement

Requirements:

• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree, Post Graduate Diploma or Professional Degree in Petroleum Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering or any equivalent
• Registered Graduate Engineer or Professional Engineer with relevant professional body is an added advantage
• Required skill(s): Strong knowledge of upstream oil and gas production operations and process systems, including production operations, separation systems, utility systems, well operations, and hydrocarbon processing facilities. Good understanding of HSE regulations, Permit to Work (PTW) systems, SIMOPS, risk assessment, and emergency response procedures. Knowledgeable in PETRONAS Technical Standards (PTS), DOSH regulations, and industry best practices.
• Key quality(s): Strong operational leadership and coordination skills, with excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities. Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure and respond decisively during operational emergencies. 
• Required language(s): English and Bahasa Malaysia
• Desired experience/exposure: Minimum of 15 years of experience in the upstream oil and gas industry. Experience in both offshore and onshore production operations is preferred, while prior experience supporting an Operations Manager or leading operational teams will be an added advantage. Experience in supporting production facilities, operational troubleshooting, and production optimization activities is required. 
• Willingness to travel offshore and onshore and work extended hours as required.
• Must be fit to work in operational environments, including offshore facilities.
• Capable of supporting the Operations Manager in achieving departmental and company operational objectives.
